Role Summary The successful candidate will join the e-Commerce Support team to make strategic product decisions grounded in data. This role will partner with product managers, product owners, and the technical teams to convert product strategy into a detailed, prioritized backlog of user stories. Serving as the Senior Technical Product Owner role in the Agile process, this position will collaborate with Agile delivery teams to bridge the gap between the desires of the business and the capabilities of the current technology.
Scope & Complexity This individual contributor position brings strategic & technical knowledge in support of product delivery strategy across e-commerce.
Support product strategy by providing the capabilities of the current technology
Support product strategy by partnering with teams to provide a product backlog of features & user stories for use by a Scrum delivery team
Lead the Technical Product Owners in refinement of their backlog and in the tasking of stories as needed
Be relentless in the pursuit of incremental delivery by looking for ways to meet business goals and learn from customers through frequent, measurable enhancements
Work collaboratively and use best practices with the delivery team to support backlog refinement, sprint planning and longer term release planning
Provide early analysis of the technical capabilities in support of prioritized user stories
Provide information to assist the delivery team in the refinement of user stories
Work with the team to remove blocking issues and clarifying ambiguous requirements
Provide support during system outages or emergency situations including occasional 24x7 on-call duties
Provide direction, mentorship, and coaching to Technical Product Owners
Provide vendor management oversight as needed; manage vendor relationship inclusive of budget spend and service level agreements
Job-Specific Skills, Education, and Experience Required
A minimum of 4 years of experience as a business analyst, product owner or other relevant experience
A minimum of 3 years working as a Product Owner in partnership with a delivery team using Scrum
A minimum of 2 years working as a Technical Product Owner, Technical Product manager, Software Developer, or equivalent experience
Experience influencing cross-functional teams successfully
Experience using digital analysis tools like Omniture
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum age of 18
Authorized to work in the U.S.
4+ years working directly with web and mobile e-commerce businesses exceeding $1MM in revenue per year
Significant experience working on large CONSUMER e-commerce businesses
Knowledge of the airline and/or travel industries and related technologies
Deep working knowledge of lean concepts
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline
