POSITION INFORMATION

Role Summary

The Manager Inflight Entertainment (IFE) & Connectivity develops and oversees Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air proprietary, branded wireless IFE program across entire fleet. This role manages the inflight connectivity and digital entertainment programs, including, pricing strategy, budget and accounting ROI, promotions, enhancements, and vendor management.

Scope & Complexity

This individual contributor position manages inflight entertainment and connectivity programs for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. This role has ownership and oversight of proprietary Alaska-branded program content.

Key Duties

  • Develops and oversees proprietary, branded wireless IFE program (e.g., content procurement and mix, vendor management, rentable device program, P&L, and evolution) across entire fleet.

  • Develops and provides daily oversight of onboard entertainment programs and experiences impacting all customers across entire fleet/network.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional senior leaders to gain consensus, determine and recommend long-term strategies, and implement resulting programs.

  • Indirectly manages members of cross-functional teams (e.g., Flight Operations, IT, Maintenance & Engineering, Marketing, Inflight, etc.), as well as key external vendors to ensure the integrity of Alaska Airline's brand experience.

  • Manages the inflight connectivity program (WiFi) and current and future technologies (e.g., pricing strategy, budget and accounting ROI, promotions, enhancements, and vendor management).

  • Manages the inflight digital entertainment program (i.e., procured and owned content), including pricing strategy, budget and accounting ROI, and monthly content and rotation of paid entertainment options.

  • Exercises ownership and oversight of proprietary Alaska-branded program content.

  • Manages the inflight rentable devices program, including oversight of software, interface, and hardware.

  • Determines day-to-day actions on IFE content/services and rotation, connectivity promotions, and activities.

  • Analyzes inflight entertainment program metrics to enhance program offerings.

  • Directs cross-functional teams for the implementation of both product strategies across all fleets.

  • Research, assesses, and recommends current and future IFE and connectivity offerings.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education

Required

  • A minimum of 5 years of consumer product marketing experience, with an emphasis on customer environments.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing external agencies and vendors.

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in marketing or a relevant discipline, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Ability to set strategy and lead cross-functional teams.

  • Strong communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening), with the experience to interact and communicate effectively across business units with leaders and employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Detailed oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Airline industry experience.
