Role Summary

This Regional Director leads a team of managers within an assigned region of the Horizon Air station network, has responsibility for a hub operation, or both. The Regional Director champions a superior level of customer service that will delight our guests at the airport. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring employees deliver a remarkable guest experience while ensuring that the utmost safety standards are upheld.

Scope & Complexity

This position is based in Seattle, oversees the Seattle station. This leadership position manages regional station operations for Horizon Air, directs and supervises Managers within their designated roles.. This Leader implements operational plans to ensure station(s) within their designated region meet performance objectives, compliance guidelines, and financial objectives.

Key Duties

  • Implements operational plans to ensure stations in the region meet performance objectives and compliance guidelines.

  • Builds and maintains a culture of safety & compliance at all levels within the Stations Operations group within the region, with a strong commitment to our Ready, Safe, Go culture.

  • Develops and mentors managers and supervisors in the region to facilitate diversity, succession planning and career progression. Ensures there is effective communication with front line and field supervisory staff that builds alignment around continuous improvement and attainment of strategic goals.

  • Anticipates equipment, technology, and facility planning needs, to ensure optimum efficiency, productivity and financial performance within the region.

  • Develops the annual regional budget and insures that it is aligned with divisional and organizational goals and objectives, drives annual budget adherence.

  • Coordinates and assists with interviewing and hiring of new management positions for all stations in the region.

  • Acts as liaison between all stations within the region and other appropriate stations or departments, to ensure support services are provided.

  • Represents Horizon and Alaska at various community and airport meetings if required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job-Specific Skills & Education


  • Minimum of 8 years of station experience with proven skills in passenger service, station operations, including cargo handling, ground operations (to include weight and balance, deicing, etc.), personnel administration, scheduling shift work, and budget controls.

  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.

  • Outstanding communication (e.g., verbal, written, and listening) and presentation skills, with a demonstrated commitment to clear and transparent communication.

  • Working knowledge of fiscal control systems, staffing processes, safety, and security compliance

  • Ability to develop new ideas to improve safety, compliance, efficiency, and cost.

  • Proven ability to motivate employees and improve and enhance group dynamics.

  • Proven ability to use tact in communicating with others and able to constructively resolve problems.

  • Ability and willingness to travel for business, up to 25%.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).


  • College degree.

  • Knowledge of TSA and FAA Regulations, and Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines Policies and Procedures.

  • Knowledge of Sabre/Image.
