POSITION INFORMATION

Role Summary The Customer Services Agent (CSA) works in a fast-paced environment assisting customers with travel needs, such as answering inquiries, ticketing, checking-in passengers, and boarding flights.

Scope & Complexity

  • This position supports customer services activities for Alaska Airlines.

Hours

  • This is a part-time position (approximately 20-30 hours per week)

  • Training is full-time hours (40 hours per week) for the first 3-4 weeks

Key Duties

  • Assists customers with travel needs (e.g., answering inquiries, ticketing, checking-in passengers, and boarding flights) in a fast-paced environment.

  • Sells tickets and ensures cabin accommodations.

  • Performs computer and paperwork tasks.

  • Evaluates and prepares flights by arranging seat assignments and load, coordinating special meals, and upgrades.

  • Performs boarding and gate duties (e.g., checking flight tickets, assisting and directing passengers, making announcements, checking aircraft, and confirming cabin security).

  • Operates, including driving, jet bridge.

  • Processes and secures passenger luggage.

  • At the direction of management, may be assigned to perform duties of varying capacities to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job-Specific Skills Required

  • A minimum of 2 years of customer service or community service experience.

  • Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, listening).

  • Typing speed of at least 25 WPM.

  • Flexibility to work varied shifts (e.g., weekends, holidays).

  • Ability to participate in paid training, which will be full-time hours for the first 3-4 weeks.

  • Ability and willingness to accept a starting pay of $12.65 per hour (may vary depending on location).

  • Ability to learn and operate a computerized reservation system.

  • Ability to adapt to performing work according to set procedures.

  • Ability to anticipate needs of others in a fast paced environment.

  • Must have a valid Driver's license and Current Passport or Enhanced Driver's license at time of hire.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
