Role Summary The Regional Manager, Station Operations leads a team within an assigned region of the Alaska Airlines station network. This Manager implements operational plans to ensure stations meet performance objectives and compliance guidelines.
Scope & Complexity
- This leadership position manages ONT and has oversight of MRY, SBA, and SBP. This role manages budget guidelines for all stations within the designated region.
Directs and supervises leaders within the designated region.
Implements operational plans to ensure stations meet performance objectives and compliance guidelines.
Manages the regional financial objectives and assure all guidelines are met.
Develops and mentors others to facilitate diversity, succession planning, and career progression.
Implements plans to ensure communication with front line and field supervisory staff.
Conducts facility planning to ensure optimum efficiency, productivity, and financial performance of stations within the designated region.
Submits budget guidelines for all stations within the designated region.
Develops and maintains good relationships with union leadership.
Coordinates and assists with interviewing and hiring of new, and replacement, management positions.
Liaises between all stations within the designated region and other appropriate stations or departments to ensure support service is provided.
Represents Alaska Airlines at various community and airport meetings.
Manages procedures for new station operations and coordinates with other departments to provide assistance and ensure all start-up requirements are met.
Job-Specific Skills & Education Required
A minimum of 3 years of station experience with proven skills in passenger service, station operations, including cargo handling, ground operations, personnel administration, scheduling shift work, administering bargaining unit employees and budget controls.
A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
Strong track record effectively managing teams and experience developing and mentoring employees through engagement.
Working knowledge of fiscal control systems, staffing processes, safety, and security compliance.
Visible and approachable leader who is naturally curious and confident without being arrogant.
Outstanding communication (e.g., verbal, written, and listening) and presentation skills, with a demonstrated commitment to clear and transparent communication.
Ability to develop new ideas to improve safety, compliance, efficiency, and cost.
Ability and willingness to travel extensively for business, up to 65%.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
